EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

To improve the client’s manufacturing processes, TensorIoT used edge hardware and AWS services to provide supply chain track and trace capabilities.

GOAL

How can you gain improved visibility into your entire supply chain?

RESULTS

The client gained broad visibility into their entire supply chain, including live ETA estimates for incoming shipments. This allowed the client to plan and make operational adjustments, increasing efficiency.

Background

The client designs, engineers, manufactures and sells vehicles and related parts, services and production systems worldwide. Initially, the client lacked the ability to track vehicle parts during production and shipping, and had no way to monitor deviations from expected destinations. In order to improve their operations, the client was interested in leveraging AWS services to build a track and trace solution to improve overall supply chain efficiency.

The Challenge

The client was looking to improve visibility around incoming shipments of auto parts. Lost or misdirected parts shipments were causing measurable disruption to their lean manufacturing processes. The client wanted a cloud-enabled digital transformation for their logistics and supply chain management.

The Solution

TensorIoT built a centralized solution to give the client the ability to collect data and monitor inbound and outbound logistics. This solution integrated ERP data (including parts lists), operational data (including truck loading and departure events), and asset data from the trucks (including GPS and speed) to bring the entire supply chain to a single pane of glass.
